I figured that after almost 3 years, my RER would need an update and so off to Google I went. I initially found your detailed writeups on over on jk-forum.com.Just did mine with your files. My Gracenotes is 1287For chits n giggles, I went ahead and ordered the free factory CD/DVD from Dodge.I really wish I had the means to search the 15,000 songs on my iPod using a uconnect voice search. 'Find, artist, Def Leppard' etc. Punching it in by touch screen is hazardous while driving. Wondering if a newer Lockpick would allow this. I have recently purchased a 2007 jeep wrangler, that has a RER system.I was able to update the RER software from v9.561 to v2.403 (using NTG49.713 and NTG49.807 in between) using the ISO/zip files from your share drive. Burned it to disc using NERO and it installed perfectly.I was also able to update to v2.404 using the disc that was provided by navteq, that was included in the 2014 map updates. As well the map update was successful.However I was not able to update gracenotes.
The gracenotes version currently installed is 534, most likely the original when the vehicle was purchased. I have downloaded both GN2057US and GN-RER-US-4620 from your share, and attempted to burn them using NERO on a DVD. I have tried 3 different medias (maxell, memorex.), using various writing speeds 2x,4x,8x etc. And no matter what I do, it never seems to install.I press the open button on the RER, I insert the disc and the device automatically closes. The system briefly says 'reading', before changing to 'DATA'.
I don't get any errors, however after 20-30 minutes it never does anything else.Do you have any suggestions on how to upgrade this database? I don't believe it is the media or NERO, since v2.403 was burned and installed properly.Thanks for your time!
